      It’s habitual for me to work hard and push mysel It’s habitual for me to work hard and push myself to go further. I set these goals that when I actually meet them, I set even higher goals. And I bet, in the end, they are really just arbitrary goals.

I realized that I have to embrace the journey of self-growth while occasionally reminding myself to appreciate the milestones. While striving for more is absolutely admirable, finding contentment in the present is equally significant.

The idea is such a commonly quoted belief, but it’s not entirely accurate for everyone or every habit.

Research suggests that the time required to form a new habit can vary widely among individuals and depending on the complexity of the habit itself.

Studies have shown that building a habit can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months 📆
.
The 28-day concept might be a general guideline for simple habits, but more complex behaviors could take longer to become ingrained. So, some habits might take less time to form, while others could take longer than the supposed 28-day mark.

One common problem in communication within relationships, whether it’s romantic or not, arises when we unintentionally fall into a pattern of focusing on criticism or negative feedback rather than highlighting positive behaviors.

Often, when asking someone to do something or addressing a behavior we'd like to change, we tend to use language that emphasizes what's lacking or wrong, inadvertently creating a defensive or discouraged atmosphere.

This approach can lead to resentment, decreased motivation, and strained relationships.

What do you do instead? The key lies in leveraging positive reinforcement within our communication. Rather than focusing on what's lacking or criticizing, we emphasize and reinforce the positive behaviors or actions we appreciate or want to see more of.

Ever felt lost for words when someone’s in tears? Situations like this are so challenging but it’s pretty common. In most cases, there’s this worry of making things worse by saying something off or insensitive, which often makes most of us freeze up and hold back on offering comfort.

But hey, here’s what you do! Show them you get it by being empathetic and assuring them that what they’re feeling is totally OKAY. 🫶 A simple touch or just being there can mean a lot 🤗
.
And here’s the thing. It shouldn’t end there. If you’re dealing with an adult, try checking in with them later. It shows you care and offers ongoing support. It’s a way of saying, ‘I’m here for you, even after the tears have dried.😭
