Last March 2023, Dr Krysti Lan Chi Vo presented her experience implementing the ACGME-supported Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Telepsychiatry curriculum at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as the Pediatric Telepsychiatry Core Curriculum.
The presentation discusses the development and implementation of a telepsychiatry curriculum for pediatric psychiatry fellows. The curriculum was created to address the need for specialized training in telepsychiatry, which has become increasingly important in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The curriculum consists of eight modules covering various telepsychiatry aspects, such as technology and equipment, ethical and legal considerations, clinical assessment and treatment, and cultural considerations. Along with the modules, the presentation also highlights the importance of providing ongoing support and feedback to fellows, ensuring access to adequate technology and resources, and addressing potential barriers to telepsychiatry implementation.
The attendees found the sessions engaging, informative, and practical, with Dr Krysti Lan Chi Vo providing actionable steps and practical insights.
